The Leadership Brunch is an opportunity for today's Colorado leaders to interact with the future leaders of tomorrow. Top business leaders will be invited to purchase tickets for the brunch for both themselves and a student. During the brunch students will not only have the opportunity to share their experiences with their host, but will also have the chance to ask questions about leadership and then hear from a well respected leader from our local community Dr. Stephen M. Jordan, President of Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Youth Leadership Symposium
April 2, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Phipps Mansion
OpenWorld Learning will be hosting its first youth leadership symposium on Friday, April 2, 2010. The symposium is being held to honor those students who have communicated a strong desire to be leaders within and outside of OpenWorld Learning. Students who attend OpenWorld Learning during the school year will qualify for a space at the symposium. To qualify for a space, students must write an essay reflecting on their knowledge of leadership, why they believe they can be a strong leader and who their role model is in the state of Colorado. The winner of the essay contest will win a $250 starter scholarship fund for college from College Invest and will have the opportunity to read their essay at the Leadership Brunch. Students who attend will have the opportunity to learn more about leaders of today and what it takes to be a highly successful leader. Business leaders will have the opportunity to share their perspectives with students attending and be available to answer students' questions regarding this important topic.

Colorado TechFair
May 15, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science
The Colorado TechFair is a one-day event that will be open to the public on Saturday, May 15 and will feature over 60 projects created by students from Denver Public Schools. Categories for competition include: programming, robotics, graphic design, animation and game design. By challenging each student to excel within this competition we are creating new and exciting opportunities that can benefit them for years to come. We will provide college start-up scholarship funds from College Invest as prizes for our top competitor in each category.
